Repair Traktor collection

The Repair Traktor collection feature checks the relationship between your Traktor Pro 4 collection and its natively linked STEMS files. It helps fix collection metadata after files have been moved, deleted, or otherwise become out of sync.

This feature is for Native Traktor Pro 4 mode. It does not generate or re-generate audio STEMS.

What it finds​

When a Traktor collection is loaded, NUO-STEMS checks Linked STEMS issues and lonely STEM files. The orange wrench icon appears next to the collection selector when there is something to repair.

The report can contain two types of issues:

Linked STEMS issues​

For each original track in the collection, NUO-STEMS checks whether the expected .stem.mp4 file exists in the Traktor Pro 4 Stems folder and proposes to fix the collection "link" accordingly.

Lonely STEM files​

These are .stem.mp4 files found in the Traktor Pro 4 Stems folder that do not have a matching original entry in the collection. They can be leftovers from tracks that were removed, moved, or replaced.

How to repair the collection​

  1. Open NUO-STEMS 4 and go to Traktor Pro 4.
  2. Wait for the collection to load and the orange wrench icon to appear next to the collection name. Icon appears only if there are issues to repair. If you use a non-default collection.nml, see Custom Collection Selection.
  3. Click the orange wrench icon next to the collection name.

  1. Review the Linked Stems Issues and Lonely Stem Files sections. Expand a section to see the affected collection paths and files.

  2. If lonely files were found, choose how to handle them:

    • Do Nothing — leave the files where they are.
    • Archive — move them to a folder you select. NUO-STEMS preserves their folder structure inside the archive folder.
    • Delete — move them to the system Trash.

  3. Click Repair. NUO-STEMS updates the collection flags and handles lonely files according to your selection, then reloads the collection.

Repair changes your Traktor collection and may move or delete files. NUO-STEMS creates a compressed backup each time the collection is loaded. You can find these backups in the Collection Backups NUO-STEMS 4 folder next to your Traktor collection file.
